Every weekend in New Buffalo holds the opportunity for something new. We host a variety of special events throughout the year — from street festivals and blockbuster art shows to fireworks on the water and exciting sports like Great Lakes surfing.

Annual Events

• Winter Festival
Feb 4-5, 2012: Winter Fest and Bev's Second Season Ball. Downtown activities from 11am - 6pm include ice-skating, ice-sculpting Saturday, shopping, free sleigh rides on Saturday and Sunday. The ball is Saturday Night at Heston Hills Banquet Center. Open bar 6:00-7:30: Dinner and dancing, champagne fountain, and charity auction. • Spring Arts & Crafts Show
May 26, 2012: This annual Arts and Crafts Show promises something for everyone. More than 45 artists and crafters will sell their unique handcrafted items from 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. at St. John United Church of Christ, 200 W. Buffalo, New Buffalo. Booths are indoors and outdoors. Snacks and lunch items available. Free admission. For more info call (269) 469-2706.

• Memorial Day Parade
May 28, 2012: Annual tribute to Veterans. Parade leaves downtown New Buffalo and proceeds along US-12 to the Cemetery where a memorial service is conducted.

• St. Mary of the Lake Festival
May 24 - May 28, 2012: This Festival festival is the official start to summer activities in New Buffalo and annual fundraiser for St Mary of the Lake School. Food, rides, games, silent auction, and live music -- fun for the entire family.

• Independence Day Concert
July 3, 2011: Independence Day Celebration at the Beach. Join the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra in a celebration of our nation's birth with an unforgettable performance set against the backdrop of beautiful Lake Michigan - 7:30pm. Admission is free to the public.

• Shoreline West Bicycle Tour
Bicycle enthusiasts from across the state and the Midwest will get a chance to peddle and experience the entire east side of the Lake Michigan coastline at next month's Shoreline West Bicycle Tour, hosted by the League of Michigan Bicyclists.

The tour, celebrating it's 25th anniversary in 2011, allows for first-time riders and experienced bicyclists alike to peddle the entire length of the West Michigan's shoreline (close to 500 miles in nine days), beginning in New Buffalo August 6 and finishing up August 15 in Mackinaw City.

August 4-11, 2012: Riders will get a chance to experience several historic lighthouses, as well as pristine orchards, world famous cherries, wineries, farms, sugar sand beaches, dunes, and a trip through the Tunnel of Trees. The tour is hosted by the League of Michigan Bicyclists. More information is available at the group's website @ www.lmb.org.

• Apple Cider Century Bicycle Tour
September 30, 2012: Nationally recognized recreational 25, 50, 75 and 100-mile bicycle tour in neighboring Three Oaks, Michigan. Safe fun time for all participants. Advance registration is required by calling (269) 756-3361

• Open-Air European Farmers Market
Scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday from Mother's Day through October 7 at the corner of Red Arrow Highway and Lakeshore Road in New Buffalo (Skip's Restaurant Parking Lot). The market is the place for everything natural and created by artisans: produce, fresh-cut restaurant-grade steaks, art, jewelry, photography, breads, pastries, coffees, lattes, smoothies, concrete garden art, clothing, candles, soaps, flowers and so much more.
