Beginning Saturday, May 18 and every Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting) stretching through mid-October, great locally produced vegetables, fruits, jellies, jams, salsas, bread, maple syrup, homemade soaps, cut flowers, potted plants, eggs, cheeses, pastries, meats, sausages, fresh-made food products, art, jewelry, clothing and more will be available at New Buffalo European Farmers Market at Skip’s Restaurant.
Market fare varies week to week, based on the growing season and harvest schedules. If you are new to purchasing locally-grown produce in Michigan, print out the Michigan Produce Availability Chart published by Michigan State University. The chart serves as a buying guide for fruits and vegetables commonly grown in Michigan. It shows a wide range of availability because the season for fruits and vegetables varies from year to year and from one area to another.
